LUAU at WAIOKEOLA
I am in Hawaii now, good to be back in these familiar surroundings. I continue the lifestyle of FEASTING not fasting for a season.
This is a year of big church anniversaries. In Surabaya, my ‘home’ church celebrated it’s 20th anniversary the Sunday before I left. Waiokeola (Hawaiian for ‘Water of Life’), where I was a member from 1976-1984, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a luau feast the weekend I came, with a program and dinner on Friday and the Luau on Saturday. When I return to Surabaya, planning is underway for the 10th anniversary of another church I was at the founding of: House of Grace, which now is meeting at two locations with five meetings a week.
Another occasion for feast was Father’s day and my home church St. Mary’s had a huge brunch for the fathers. Another coming up is next Sunday, when my grand daughter will be baptized and the family will feast! The Lutheran church baptizes infants - in Jesus the Word Blog I will post a Biblical explanation for those friends of mine whose doctrine is against the practice.
Also in Jesus the Word are some thoughts about Peacemakers.
