The Harvesters for Christ Tondo has been reaching out to this area for several years, finally obtained some land and have built a nipa (palm leaf) shelter for a church.  The shelter is up, floor is still dirt.  'Electricity is only 3 weeks old here' I was told.

MANILA NORTH CEMETERY

Spacious and comfy
Great seats

Manila North Cemetery is one of my favorite visits each Time I minister with Harvesters Tondo.  The place is so large, and even though we generally minister in the same area, we go in and out with different routes, and when we do home visits we go through different areas, so it's always a changing scene.

They actually pay attention
Kids love the soup
Here we see our main ministry location, a mausoleum which is opened for us.  Protects from the rain and the sun and provides a clean place to serve food.

This one looks inviting
Lots of windows for view

These 'homes' are designed for the dead, but families live in them, and generations have grown up in this cemetery knowing no other home or lifestyle.

Ailen

Street to Ailen's
I met Ailen in Guimaras Island in 1987.
She was one of the youth at youth camp which we had several years in a row.
Ailen n  Family
She was involved in some quite astounding happenings at their church during that time. She was one of the first who called me Dad. Now, her daughter is the same age as she was then (14). She found me on FB shortly after Toby and Harald set up my FB page. Of course I am not really a FB person but do check from time to time.
The girl got anointed, set on fire!

The woman came up to us on the street,
was healed of lots of things.

It was a spectacular day!

I was scheduled for Wednesday evening, but was held over, things were so good!
This church has 3 locations. Wednesday and Friday night were in the central church, Thursday evening at a branch.
Wonderful time with them, great new friends!

Youth Turkey Dinner

The Youth on Wednesday
Ibu Sri with Hugh & Winda
The past week has been amazing.  Not the least was at the Youth Group on Wednesday.  Winda brought her maid, Ibu Sri, who had been complaining of pain from above her right hip to her calves, and also of numbness in her right foot. Sri was completely healed, and later in the meeting invited Jesus to be her Lord and Savior.  Much of the meeting was in teaching her the basics (at the same time pointing out to the youth, and asking them to do some of the teaching) and leading her to the conclusion that no man can possibly come before God by good work.

I prepared a counter, but they
preferred to mash on the floor

Sunday Oct 30 by popular request we had turkey Thanksgiving dinner, early this year since I will be leaving Tuesday for Philippines for three weeks, then on to Hawaii, etc.
