FIRST KISS
I was privileged to make a quick trip to Jakarta for the wedding of one of my guys. He is in the group of 7 young men that a lady pastor asked me to mentor some 7 years ago. This is the group that is now getting married, moving away. For many years we met once a week, but for about four years now regular meetings have been impossible as they move into adulthood and begin to mentor their own young people. We still keep in touch, they bring (brought) their young ladies to me for approval, and they still come to me when they are down or have problems to solve or big decisions to make.
The event is REMARKABLE from the point of view of the culture I come from, in that the wedding kiss for most of these young men is the first kiss they have with their betrothed. Their church and family have taught them a lesson of purity which they received.
For any young people who might come across this article, I encourage you to consider PURITY in all walks of life, but especially sexual purity. There are many benefits (mostly delayed, which I know doesn’t appeal to many) and you can avoid many problems (which also are usually delayed until later in life, and show up unexpectedly). Maybe you can’t believe that this was their first kiss, but it really was!
IT IS POSSIBLE TO STAY PURE.
EVERYONE IS NOT ‘DOING IT’
