WALKING WITH JESUS - PD RUTH

WALKING WITH JESUS - PD RUTH

PD = Persecutuan Doa or Prayer Fellowship
RUTH = Revelation, Unity, Trust, Honesty

Saturday, 2 March.
I arrived in Jakarta late last night, my plane delayed an hour. Today I had two meetngs, the first with PD RUTH. I talked about Ruth the story, Ruth the character, about decision, commitment, trust. (Click on Jesus the Word for something I learned while preparing). The photo above shows the core team of ladies who organize and coordinate the meetings.

As is my custom, I prayed for individuals after the meeting. Much of the prayer was personal and not really to be shared here. Toward the end, a man came asking for prayer for 'rheumatism' in his knee. It hurt him when the weather is cold, he said. I laughed and said 'It's never cold in Jakarta!" a comment which went over his head.

We are just off the equator here, and to anyone who has experienced freeaing weather, the cold of 24-25§ C is not really cold at all. It is still rainy season here, and there was rain as we arrived for the meeting this AM.
He allowed as how it was cold at the time, and because it was cold, his knees hurt also. As we talked, I sensed the Lord was doing something, so asked him if he was sure his knees hurt now. Without thinking he said yes. But when I pushed him, there was no more pain to be found. He was amazed, and we tested the knees repeatedly, but he could not make them hurt.
I guess it was a morning for knees, because with this report, another man came, and complained that he had a growth on his knee which caused him pain when he sat on his haunches (a common way for Indonesians to sit). Again, I sensed the Lord doing something, so I asked him to show ee the lump. It didn't seem to be where he expected it, but he insisted it was still there, showing us a 'lump' on th back of his knee which I can also see on my own knee when I lock it as he did. It took some time for him to realize that actually his lump had disappeared and he could squat down and stand up at will without pain, which, when he realized it, he repeatedly did to his own amazement and the delight of us all.
Jesus is still in the business of miracles. Often, we miss the miracle because we don't believe it, and in insisting the condition exists, invite the condition to return, preferring to be right about what we believe rather than freed by the Word of God!
The rest of the day, including the evening meeting with a similar group, was equally interesting and exciting!
